The future of Miralem Pjanic points further and further away from Barcelona. His stint with the Catalan giants has not gone as he expected and a move is probably the best outcome for all parties involved.

A move away is closer to becoming a reality as Barcelona are in talks with his former side, Juventus, on a possible return.

The continuation of Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman sealed Pjanic’s fate.

According to Sport, both sides are in negotiations with Pjanic already giving the go ahead. The only stipulation is Juventus would only be willing to accept a loan deal.

The rumored deal, however, would see the Serie A giants sign Pjanic, on loan, for two seasons. In order for an agreement to be reached, the midfielder would have to lower his wage demands.

It may be something the player would be willing to do in order to escape a situation in which he knows he is not going to play. Especially now with Barcelona confirming that Ronald Koeman will manage the team next season.

Pjanic does not have a good relationship with the Dutch manager and saw himself fall out of favor last season. He rarely saw any playing time and others, like Ilaix Moriba, were preferred over him.

He has made it quite clear that he does not want to go through another season where he is ostracized and doesn’t get a chance to prove himself.

Pjanic is well liked at Juventus and by the new/old manager, Massimiliano Allegri. But before he can arrive, the Vecchia Signora will need to sell some players of their own. The likes of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot would have to make way first.

For Barcelona, moving Pjanic would open up a spot in midfield and perhaps signify more playing time for either Moriba or Riqui Puig. Koeman wants the club to sign another midfielder so time will tell whether one, or both, of the youngster benefit or the Blaugrana decide to go out and spend on a star midfielder.
