Barcelona finished behind Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the 2020/21 La Liga season. Obviously, there were many issues at hand. The Dutchman needed a year to settle into the coaching job at the Nou Camp. Not only did he face major injury problems, with the likes of Gerard Pique, Philippe Coutinho, Ansu Fati, and Ousmane Dembele out for most of the season, he also faced major financial problems at the club.
