Denmark’s Euro 2020 Hero to cost Barcelona €50 million

Danish winger Mikkel Damsgaard has caught the attention of many big European clubs after his brilliant display in the UEFA Euro 2020 so far. He’s been absolutely top-notch with Denmark and sides like FC Barcelona and AC Milan have already feigned interest in the player. According to Goal, Barcelona is even interested in landing the player in this transfer window but he will not come for cheap, as his prices have rocketed especially after this gorgeous Euro campaign so far.

The 20-year-old plays for Sampdoria in Serie and according to the reports from Goal, Sampdoria has repeatedly warned off clubs to keep hold of their rising star. While they want to very much keep him for next season, they are well aware that the player’s ambitions and his transfer fee could potentially persuade them to make a sale.

However, they did put a price tag of 50 million euros on the player so a team that is seriously considering landing the man will have to pull out the big bucks in order to land the Dame’s services. As of now, it is just Barcelona and AC Milan who have shown interest in the winger and they have been informed about the price which circulates around 50-60 million euros.

The magical youngster has been lighting up the Euros so far with Denmark. It is his brilliant performances in the knockout tournament so far which is responsible for the Italian side demanding such a high price for the talented winger. However, the Serie A club has no intention of selling the youngster and could potentially decline even a 50-60m bid. They plan to hold on to the man firmly as they believe that he is not for sale.

However, one would anticipate more performances from him. He needs to be more consistent and much more regular before big teams go in for him and pay the demanded fee. He’s had a superb tournament but a few knockout games are not really something through which one can judge a young player and his potential. However, if Barcelona does land him they will have a gem of a player and he will also receive the best coaching needed for a young player to grow at the Nou Camp.
