Ronald Koeman took a chance on the young player Barca signed from UD Palmas named Pedri. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder took this opportunity given to him by Koeman to show the world what he is truly made of. Impressed by what he saw on the pitch, the former Barcelona center-back decided to make Pedri a regular starter.
He was amazing to watch on the pitch, and although he seemed a bit shaky at the beginning of the season, he soon became more confident and started to impact each and every game. He resembled everything that the youngsters can bring to this new era of Barcelona, passion, determination, commitment, and a drive to surpass the former generation. Pedri’s passion for moving the ball forward, getting back to defend, and opening up the defense through thoughtful passes has made him a celebrated player in Catalunya.
He has even garnered compressions to a young Lionel Messi, who possessed the same passion and urgency on the ball. Pedri is undoubtedly going to be the face of the club when Messi retires and he will definitely be the top player to look out for next season, as the player is just full of magic, and we can not wait to see him back in the Blaugrana shirt.
