Premier League mid-table side, Everton appointed Rafa Benitez after the departure of Carlo Ancelloti. The blue team from Merseyside are obviously tired of being behind their derby rivals, Liverpool, and they are trying to get in high-profile managers in order to take their team back into the European tournaments. However, in order to reach good heights, a good manager is just the beginning, next they need some new players as well.

According to reports from SPORT, the former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager is hoping to lift Everton back to the top of the Premier League. This will not be an easy project and it will have to go through many phases. The first step for Rafa is to secure a European position and for that, he will need some reinforcements. Reports suggest that Benitez is interested in Barcelona man Clement Lenglet.
Everton keen on signing Clement Lenglet from Barcelona
The 26-year-old man will be a perfect fit for the Toffees, as they are trying to get more experienced top-level players who will be able to lift the club to the next level. Although Lenglet did not have a good season with Barcelona in the La Liga or with France in the Euros, he will still be a big upgrade over Yerry Mina. Rafa has already identified Mina as a player he will not be using and thus Lenglet can be his direct replacement.
This will be a great deal for both of the clubs, as Everton will be gaining a player who has a lot of experience in European, as well as international football, and Barcelona will be able to let go of one of their highest-earning players, which will help them in lowering their total player wages. The Catalans need to let go of some of their highest earners such as Lenglet, Philippe Coutinho, Antoine Griezmann, etc, as otherwise, they will not be able to re-sign Lionel Messi or register their four new signings.
Should Barca sell or keep Clement Lenglet?
