Barcelona: Top Five Performers in Euros and Copa America
#1 Jordi Alba (Spain)
One of Barcelona’s most loyal players, and still one of their best at this age, is Jordi Alba. The Spanish full-back was Ronald Koeman’s number one choice last season, and his performance speaks for itself. He was Spain’s main left-back and played in every single match, starting in five of them. He also had to captain the side in the first two matches due to the absence of fellow Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets. He showed everyone why he was still being chosen over younger players at Barca as he went on to have a great Euros, scoring once as well as providing one assist. Although the player is 32 years old, he has the stamina of a 20-year-old, as he sprinted up and down the field, helping out his defense, as well as putting in crosses for the strikers. He is a true modern full-back and was certainly one of Spain’s stand-out players.
