#5 Lionel Messi (Argentina)

Who else but Lionel Messi can top this list. Yes, technically speaking, the Argentine is no longer a Barcelona player however, according to reports, the player is set to commit his future to the Catalans, right after they fix their financial situation. The 34-year-old had an absolutely amazing Copa America run and he finally managed to break Argentina’s 28-year-old curse, and win them a major international trophy. This was Messi’s fifth final and could have been his last ever in the Copa. Stakes were high going into the tournament however, Messi took his ability one step further and played his heart out on the field. With five assists and four goals to his name, the Argentine won the Best Player of the Tournament award, as well as the Golden Boot. He finally won his first international trophy and will be hoping to lift the World Cup in 2022. Hopefully, Barca can finish their negotiations with the La Liga board soon and Messi can once again wear the Catalan colors, as he always has.
