#4 Pau Torres (Spain)

Barcelona are in need of another center-back who can compliment the likes of Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia. While the Catalans do have a number of center-backs at the moment, two of them, Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet, are poised to leave the club. Laporta has already recognized the two French defenders as non-essentials in the club, even their high-profile center-back, Gerard Pique, might leave the club soon due to his age. This would leave the club with only three center-backs and they do need another one as a substitute.

Pau Torres of Villareal could be a massive buy for the Catalans however, he would be a very intelligent buy as well. The 24-year-old is just entering his prime, played in six of the matches with Spain, and also had an amazing season with his club. Not only did he play in over 40 matches, but he also managed to score three goals and also provided two assists. He also played a huge part in Villareal’s win over Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League finals, playing a full two hours of football, as well as converting his spot-kick during the shootouts. The player has a contract till 2024 thus, if Barca wants this experienced, young player, they will have to make a significant bid. However, he has a huge potential and could be very impressive in the long run.
