#3 Emiliano Martinez (Argentina)

With Barcelona’s secondary keeper, Neto, on his way out, it is a perfect time for the Catalans to look for someone suitable enough to replace him. While Neto was usually just stuck to the bench, should the Catalans get a more competitive keeper, there is no reason why the new keeper won’t try to displace Marc-Andre ter Stegen from his throne. The German keeper has been the number one choice for Barca for a long time now and maybe it is about time to bring in some competition for him.

Former Arsenal keeper, Emiliano Martinez, would be perfect for that role. The 28-year-old played a big part in winning Argentina their first trophy since 1993. His heroics in the penalty shootout against Columbia in the semi-finals, effectively put them into the finals, and he was fantastic in the finals as well. He is currently Aston Villa’s main goalkeeper so it is unlikely that he would switch to Barca to fight with Ter Stegen; however, he did mention after the tournament that he would do anything for Messi and maybe his compatriot can convince him. Martinez would be a great upgrade over Neto and Barca would have a fantastic substitute keeper.
