In the press conference where Barcelona unveiled Memphis Depay as their newest player, club president Joan Laporta and Matue Alemany made it clear that Miralem Pjanic and Samuel Umtiti are up for sale this summer.
Signed last season to fill the void in the club’s midfielder, Pjanic has failed to do that under Ronald Koeman and now as part of the rebuild is one of the players being sold.

Many clubs are interested in signing the Bosnian midfielder, including Arsenal and Tottenham. However, recent reports suggest that Pjanic is most interested in moving to his old club Juventus, which he left last season in a swap deal that saw Arthur go the other way.
Reports suggest that the midfielder wants to leave the club before they head to Germany for their preseason preparations.
Pjanic to leave Barcelona for Juventus?
According to the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Juventus representatives have met with Pjanic’s agent, Fali Ramadani, in Milan on the 21st of July.
Juventus want him on loan initially and Barca have said that a loan deal would only be beneficial if Juventus are ready to pay the complete salary of the Bosnian. Barca are also willing to do a swap deal for Juve’s Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, but the Italian outfit will not let go of Betancur.
Bringing Pjanic back to Turin may not be as easy as Juventus would like it to be, since it all depends on the sale of their Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey. If Ramsey stays at Juventus, then they would not be able to afford Pjanic’s wages. Hence keeping him put at the club.
However, we know how big of a fan Massimiliano Allegri is of the Bosnian and he will do anything to bring the 31-year-old back to Turin from Barcelona. Pjanic played a very important role in Allegri’s squad in his first spell at the club.
Do you think selling Pjanic is a good idea for the club? Or should they have stuck with him for another season?
