The Barcelonistes managed to sign the Premier League’s golden boy, Sergio Agüero, for free this summer when his former club Manchester City did not want the player to be a part of their future anymore. After the move, Agüero ventured out to Brazil for the continental tournament of Copa America to represent his national side Argentina.
Though he made only two starts at the campaign, it was a special outing for him and the team as they won the coveted silverware after a long series of pursuits. The noticeable concern for the Blaugranes was the minutes that the 33-year-old was getting. In the last season, a vital City player like him was only used a handful of times by Pep Guardiola.
A series of injuries kept the player on the sidelines for 17 Premier League games. Out of those in which he was clear, Pep didn’t see him fit enough to carry forward his ambitions. By now, Agüero has identified his problems and has been motivated to treat them for the better.
Agüero wants to earn longevity at Barcelona
In a desperate move to help prolong his football career, the Argentine forward was looking at the options of treating his knees. To be more specific about the whole ordeal, the player had consulted his doctors and has undergone a stem cell treatment, which intends to regenerate cartilage in both his knees. Cadena SER‘s report states that Dr. Robert Soler at the Institute for Tissue Regenerative Therapy performed the procedure that promises Sergio career longevity.
Right now, Kun Agüero is yet to conclude his holidays after his international affair. The whole treatment will not be accounting for the requirement of any additional breaks for the striker. He will be looking forward to enjoying the effects of the medical aid soon as many athletes have before him.
