Barcelona are in financial turmoil, they have amassed a lot of debt, and now the La Liga has handed them a severe salary cap. In Spite of all these restrictions, the Catalans have managed to make four transfers already.

More from Everything Barca

This seems like a very bad idea, financially speaking, and they are facing the repercussions already. The Blaugranas have not been able to register a single one of their new transfers, and they desperately need to sell some of their current stars in order to officially register the likes of Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero, etc.

Joan Laporta has confirmed that he is looking to sell a lot of the top players or earners in the club. Players such as Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet, Philippe Coutinho, Antoine Griezmann, etc. have all been allowed to leave, and the club is actively trying to find buyers for these players. However, young talents such as Ansu Fati, Pedri, Ilaix Moriba, and Ronald Araujo, have been named as the untouchables, and Barcelona will not let them go for any amount.

This puts a fairly young player, Sergino Dest, in a tough spot. The American was brought in from Ajax last season, and he had a fair season, to say the least. He was not in his best of forms, and he could not emulate the free-flowing, modern, advanced wing-back play that he is used to; however, he did enough to impress the board. They did not name him in either category and thus when German giants, Bayern Munich, inquired about the player, no one really knew what to expect.

Barcelona refused to let Sergino Dest leave

Dest seems happy at Barcelona and wants to carry on with his contract, and the club has seen that is the case. That is why the Catalans turned down an official offer sent by Munich to keep Dest at the club. Bayern apparently tried to grab Dest last season as well from Ajax, however, Barcelona made a better offer, and they intend to use the player rigorously next season as well.

Selling him would bring the club some funds for the next season, and it would have even allowed them to register one of the new players however, Dest is an important investment for the Catalans, and they have full trust that the American will get them the results that they so badly need.

Should Barca sell or keep Sergino Dest?
