His amazing season with the Italian side earned him a call-up for Argentina in the 2021 COPA America, and he went on to win that in an amazing fashion. The final was a barrage of attacks by Brazil, and after just coming back from injury, no one expected Romero to give the performance of his life. However, he managed to keep a clean sheet and after that performance, a lot of clubs were interested in the player.

At the moment, he is still a Juventus player however, Atlanta are expected to make his loan deal permanent. It is not sure whether the Italians will be willing to sell the player however, Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, is a magician when it comes to transfers, and he can make almost any deal go through. The Catalans will be fighting off some other clubs in order to secure the defender, most notably Tottenham Hotspur. The Spurs are also looking to bring the player to their club, and given their financial stability, Barca might have a tough task at hand.
