Promising Barcelona youngster joins Real Madrid Castilla

Barcelona, a team renowned for their youth academy products have lost one of their most talented individuals. It was announced earlier this month that former under-19s captain, Jaume Jardi, was picked up by Real Madrid Castilla on a free transfer. The rivals picked up the 19-year-old after Barcelona decided that they would not extend his contract. Thus the former talent left the Catalans to join their rivals, and he will be playing against the likes of Barcelona B next season.

The right-winger was a talented player and a leader on the pitch. He even made a B team appearance for Barcelona last season however, he did not manage to impress the B team coach, and never made another appearance. According to the Catalans, the player had immense talent, and that is why he was made the captain of the under-19 side; however, he was not growing much as a player, and he stagnated at the age of 19.

To play for Barca, you must show that you have the ability to be one of the best in the world, and sadly that was not the case for Jardi. The young boy who showed so much potential got stuck and could not develop his game and abilities any further. That is why the Catalans decided that he was surplus at the club because he would not make it to the B team, and thus they decided to let his contract run out.

Real Madrid sign the Barcelona youngster

Real Madrid’s B team, otherwise known as RM Castilla, decided that the player still has potential, and thus they offered him a new contract. In order to keep his professional dreams alive, Jardi accepted that contract and he will be wearing the white jersey from next season onwards. It is not a big loss for the Catalans as they did not have plans for the player anyway, however, they do wish the player all the best in his future endeavors, and hope to see him playing for a top team in the future.
