High Team Spirit

Despite an incoming horror of not being able to register their new signings for the upcoming season. A leader emerged, showing that the club still has the values on which the success of the club was built. Gerard Pique agreed to take a substantially reduced salary in order to help the club out. Pique has also insisted that fellow captains Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba will soon follow his lead amid Barca’s dreadful financial situation.

Ronald Koeman helped Barcelona steady the ship last season, winning the Copa Del Rey, and challenging for the La Liga crown until the 36th game week. Under Koeman’s stewardship, the club’s mentality has also improved significantly.

Barcelona are considering extending Koeman’s contract if three conditions are met that involve winning titles, adhering to the club’s style of play with the 4-3-3 system and the proper rotation of young players including Riqui Puig.

This season the squad looks more settled and every player is looking to contribute. Barcelona have played a 4-3-3 in the first 3 games of La Liga, earning 7 points in the process, with Depay taking centre stage in this new-look attack for the Catalan club.

The club is looking more united than ever before. Barcelona is no more reliant on an exceptional individual in the form of Messi, the current players as a whole will be contributing to help the cause.

These players know what is at stake and what needs to be done in order to help the club achieve it’s goals. Messi’s departure has only brought this squad closer and as a result has improved the team spirit at the Camp Nou.
