International Break: Three Barcelona youngsters to keep an eye on
Pedri (Spain)
One of the best Barcelona senior team players of last season, Pedri, has easily cemented himself in the main team of the Spanish National Team. He would have easily been in the national team in the upcoming friendlies however, it is now a big concern since he was injured about three weeks ago and has yet to play a game since then. He missed the important clash against Atletico Madrid due to his injury but for some reason, he is still on the 23 man squad. He was one of the main players for Spain in the Euros and had incredible passing statistics.
He was the biggest discovery by Ronald Koeman last season and he played over 50 games for the Blaugrana at the age of only 18. His work is similar to Andreas Iniesta where he does not often set up the assist directly or score directly however, he controls the midfield and gives the important passes which can start off the attack. He is extremely important to the team and although he plays in a more advanced position, he has the motivation and passion to help out the defense as well. One can often see him at the back making important tackles as well.
Pedri has only played four matches for the Catalans this season however, the selection means that he is ready to get back on to the pitch. It is still unknown whether Enrique will actually use him or not however if he plays in the national team on 7th, he will be ready for his next match for Barca. On the other hand, if he is not used, that is also beneficial as he will be able to rest for a few more days and recover from his injury. Either way, he is one of the players you must keep your eyes on.
Are you excited to watch Pedri return from his injury?
