Barcelona may have been knocked out of the biggest club competition in Europe however, it is a team that seemingly cannot escape blockbuster matches. First, two games against Bayern Munich, and now after being relegated to the second-tier European competition, they will face one of the best and most iconic teams in world football. Napoli, Diego Maradona‘s club, will be the challengers trying to take down Barcelona in the knockout round play-off of the Europa League. This will be an iconic match and even people who look down upon the tournament will tune in to see the battle of the giants.

Napoli is one of Barca’s only worries in the tournament and a chance to knock them out of the tournament so soon is a blessing and a curse. Right now the Naples-based team is not maintaining their amazing form and their brilliant run at the start of the season may be coming to an end soon. They were dominant in the league and were the leaders for many game weeks; however, they have now fallen to the fourth position. The former Italian giants lost two of their last five games and won only two which allowed other teams such as Inter Milan and AC Milan to catch up.

This will be the first time in 17 years that the two clubs will meet and it will surely be historic in nature. Both the clubs’ are trying to get back to their former throne and it will be good competition for both these teams. Barca are not looking very good either, however, they will have a bit more knowledge about Napoli’s team since the Italians will take on Milan in the league next. This is one game you do not want to miss and the atmosphere in the Camp Nou and Diego Maradona Stadium will be absolutely breathtaking.
