Barcelona is a club that is going through a very dark period of time right now. The once giants of football have now been reduced to midtable and Europa League team. Barcelona was once the best team in the world, the most formidable club a team could face but now they are nowhere to be seen in the biggest competition in club football. This is not a sudden fall from grace but due to years of mismanagement and neglect. Everyone knew that Barca would be in a state where they find themselves now and now it is all about getting back up and showing the world what the club truly represents.

Now that Xavi Hernandez has been at the managerial spot for a few weeks, he has understood the main problem with the team and the players. According to Xavi, the very essence of the club is lost and the players do not understand that it is a privilege to play for a club like Barca. After his team was trailing 2-0 to Bayern Munich in the first half, Xavi was fuming during the halftime break. He apparently said,

"“Some of you don’t understand what it means to play for Barça.”Source Sport"

It seems like the former Barcelona Legend is ready to take the club back to its glory days but for that to happen, he will need some new players, some passionate players who will fight for the team and for the badge. Big-name players such as Marc Andre Ter-Stegen, Frenkie de Jong and Sergino Dest are just some of the players Xavi is not at all pleased with and to the point where they might be transfer-listed by the club. While this is a strong decision by the club, it also shows that Joan Laporta is ready to change the current scenario and catapult the Blaugrana back to where they belong.
