Barcelona’s plan B striker if Erling Haaland deal fails
Barcelona is pretty much planning to go all-in for Erling Haaland. The current president of the club has been talking about the Norwegian player since before his elections and he has been promising the fans a world-class striker after Lionel Messi‘s departure. Haaland is his number one choice however, reports suggested that the Catalans would have settled for Alvaro Morata on a temporary basis. Now, however, it seems that they are no longer willing to bring in a temporary striker, and they want someone who will have instant impact and can instantly be thrown into the first team. Right now the man they are looking at goes by the name of, Dusan Vlahovic.
Barcelona considering Dusan Vlahovic as plan B
The Fiorentina striker is currently just 21 years old and has been making serious waves in Italy. The player is young, hungry and has been scoring consistently in Serie A and thus it was just a matter of time before his hard work attracted some elite clubs. Right now the player has 16 goals in 19 appearances and last season he had 21 goals. He is on track to easily outdo his previous record and clubs like Barca, Arsenal and even Tottenham Hotspurs are looking to make an investment in the player.
The main problem with bringing in a striker from Serie A is the level of adjustment the player has to go through. The Italian league is relatively easier to score in and even their top striker, Romelu Lukaku, who scored 20 goals a season consistently is having a bit of a problem settling back into the Premier League. He is not the Catalans first choice however, he is better than Morata. He is not going to be cheap either since the Italian side knows his demand in the European market. Still, statistically, he is a better choice than Morata plus, he is very young and can be easily molded into the Xavi Hernandez system, making him an ideal pick for the Catalan kings.
