Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, has said multiple times that he will be bringing in some new recruits in 2022. The club has already signed Manchester City star, Ferran Torres, in the winter transfer window and now they are looking to offload some players in order to bring in some new players. The two positions that the Catalans want to fill in right away are the right-back position and the striker position and the main players on their list are Jose Gaya and Erling Haaland. For this, they will need to sell more players and it might be time up for Memphis Depay as well.
The Dutch forward was brought in by Ronald Koeman and even though he is a winger by preference, the manager made him play as a number nine. Depay had worked with Koeman before in the Netherland national team and he had played as a number nine there as well. His superb numbers in the Ligue one was also signs of why the manager decided that Depay could be the one to replace Luis Suarez. However, he has been inconsistent with his scoring and now Barca are looking to let him go. Three Serie A clubs are interested in the player and with Barca actively looking to buy a traditional number nine, Depay should make a decision soon.
Three Seria A giants want Barcelona striker Memphis Depay
The three clubs that are interested in the player are all big teams and Depay would thrive in all of them. Inter Milan, Ac Milan, and Juventus are the three clubs looking to buy the player and all of them would be a suitable choice for the Dutch striker. Inter needs to replace Romelu Lukaku, Milan needs to replace Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic while Juve needs to figure out what to do with Alvaro Morata on his way out. All of these clubs have a lot to offer to the player and if Barca can make a few million off of a free transfer, it will be a big win for the club.
Should Barcelona sell Memphis Depay?
