#3 Aymeric Laporte of Manchester City

Aymeric Laporte is a player Barcelona have been scouting since last season; however, he was not ready to leave Manchester City at that time. The player was reportedly unhappy since Pep Guardiola was starting Diaz and John Stones over him, however, since then he has managed to improve his game and is now a regular at the Manchester side. Laporte was an extremely important player for the Sky Blues two seasons ago, thus it hurt the player when he was suddenly not being picked by Guardiola. Barca was close to signing him last season however, the deal ultimately did not go through and he is still with City.

Right now bringing him into the Catalan capital will be a tough job since he seems happy at City however, the fact still remains that there is a lot of competition in Manchester and Laporte moving to Barca would easily cement his role in a first-team. The player has been drilled into a great centre-back by Guardiola and although he is not as solid as Diaz, his commitment to the game is second to none and his injury in the match against Southampton is proof to that sentiment.

The player still has a lot of years left on his contract and it will be difficult to buy him and then give him a salary that he will be satisfied with. The player certainly is a solid defender and can give a lot of years to Barca but negotiations will be quite tough and that is why he is not a viable buy for the club.
