#1 Andreas Christensen of Chelsea

The main defender that the Catalans should definitely go for next season is Andreas Christensen. The Chelsea player has shown some real quality however, he has not been able to secure a deal of his liking with the club. He has been trying to negotiate a contract for several months but to no avail and now it seems as if he is ready to move on to the next chapter in his life. He is one of the best defenders in the Premier League at moment however, his main problem is his injuries. When he is playing on the field he is one of the best but he tends to get injured quite a bit.

Another con about the player is that he is not selected for the main team most of the time because the Blues have Thiago Silva and Rudiger and Thomas Tuchel prefers them over the Danish defender. The player is in his prime at the moment and he does not want to waste his time on the bench, thus a move away would be good for his career. He already showed his prowess in Euros and the UCL finals last season so Barca should not worry too much about his performance.

The player has also stated that he will not be joining any other Premier League team due to his respect for his current club, this means that Barcelona will have a good chance of signing him next season for free. He would be open to taking a lower wage if it means he will play regularly and putting him beside Ronald Araujo would make the Barca backline solid once again.
