Barcelona has a few changes to make within their squad, especially to get rid of all the players who are past their prime and have to give it their all in every game just to keep up with the young competition. Players such as Gerard Pique, Dani Alves, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, etc, are well past their prime and their former selves are lost with their age. Sergio Busquets, once the greatest defensive midfielder on the planet, now struggles to keep up with the rest of the team and cannot provide the same stability he used to back in the days.

Barca has already decided to replace the aging midfielder and now they have isolated one potential target as well. The target that Barca has in mind is a 22-year-old defensive midfielder from France named, Aurelien Tchouameni. The Monaco midfielder is considered as one of the fastest rising young talents and he has already been called to the national team seven times. He is one of the players who could become the next Busquets or N’golo Kante and thus the Catalans will try their best to secure the player before the competition for him becomes too big.

The main problem with the buy, however, is just that. While too many teams are not interested in the player, two big teams have already made their intentions clear about signing the young talent. Chelsea and Real Madrid have already inquired about the player and preliminary reports say that the Blues were asked to pay a fee of 80 million euros for the player. This is a huge number and Barca cannot afford to fight with such big teams at the moment. The Catalans have also identified Erling Haaland as their main target for the summer thus, Tchouameni, will have to take a backseat and other teams could grab the player before Barca can financially afford him and Haaland at the same time.

Should Barcelona sign Aurelien Tchouameni?
