Adama Traore was in the news last week due to his massive return to Barcelona. The La Masia graduate was one of the most promising players from the academy however, he chose to go to the Premier League to further his career. In the Premier League, Traore is known for his amazing speed and his frankly ridiculous physique. He is one of the most physically dominant players in the world and now he has decided to go back to Barca in order to help the team which once helped him rise up to the top.

The player was in big demand this window with Tottenham Hotspurs offering to buy him and give him a huge wage boost. However, although Spurs seemed like the most logical move for the player, Traore decided to take a much lower wage and move back to his former home in order to play for the Blaugrana shirt once again. Not only is Barca one of the biggest clubs in the world, but the club also has a sentimental value within the player which made the choice easy for him. However, although Barca did manage to secure the player, will he actually be viable in the grand scheme of Barca’s plans?

Can Adama Traore succeed at Barcelona?

Well, it all depends upon his performance. He has not been a prolific goal scorer for Wolves and he does not have many assists under his belt either. He was a big player in the team however, it was obvious that his former team did not deem him very important since he only started 50 percent of the games in the league. Switching over to La Liga might be a bit easier for him since he is already familiar with Spanish football and he can use his pace to get away from the full-backs. His versatility will also help out a lot however if he does not start scoring or providing assists, he will most probably not be retained by the club
