Barcelona are still in need of a striker and with the transfer window almost done, this is their last day to secure someone till the end of the season. The Catalans were going for Alvaro Morata however, the Atletico Madrid man who is currently at Juventus on loan, will not be sent out on another loan and Barca will need to buy him outright if they want to bring him to the club. However, that will not work for the Catalan giants since they already have their eyes set on Erling Haaland and they are looking for a temporary solution for now.

Their second option and one that we have already discussed in a previous article is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Arsenal striker and former captain has completely fallen out of favor at the club and is looking to move away from the gunners because he is getting no game time at all. He is one of the deadliest strikers in the box and he even won the Golden Boot a couple of years ago. Even though he has had some personal problems with the club, he has always been a constant goal scorer for Arsenal and it would be amazing to have him in Barca on a loan.

Aubameyang must cut his wages to join Barcelona

The main problem was his humungous wage that would definitely break La Liga’s salary cap regulation and thus singing him was almost impossible. Aubameyang is one of the highest earners in the PL and thus moving to Barca for a fraction of that income did not seem likely. However, now it seems like the player is ready to take a huge wage cut in order to play for Barca and move away from the North London side. According to Diario Sport, the player is ready to lower his wages in order to help the Catalan side finalize his deal. If that is the case, keeping him past this season would also be a viable option since he has a couple of years left to give at top-level football and he himself is a top-level finisher.

Should Barca bring Aubameyang to the Nou Camp?
