FC Barcelona, on Sunday, registered an emphatic 1-4 away victory against Valencia. Xavi’s side were awarded for their clinical edge in front of goal at the Mestalla, which was fairly not the case against Napoli in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League tie.

The team’s performance against Bordalas’s side was promising, as Barca climbed up the La Liga table to the fourth spot. Xavi praised his side for their impressive display at a difficult away ground- the Mestalla. Under his tenure, the club has amassed 25 points out of a possible 36 points in the league and are unbeaten since the start of December.

Here were the three best performers, according to me, for the Blaugrana on Sunday-

3. Jordi Alba:

Jordi Alba, who often divides the fanbase regarding opinions on him, enjoyed a very good game against his former club. The 32-year-old left-back was whistled throughout the match by the Valencia fans, but he didn’t let that affect his performance. He notched his sixth assist of this season when he played a delightful ball to Aubameyang for his first goal in the 23rd minute. Alba was again instrumental in Barca’s second goal as he played a perfectly-weighted pass to Dembele in the box, who then squared it for Frenkie De Jong to finish.

Alba, now, has registered six assists in the league and has been directly involved in goals in the last three matches. His form will be vital for the Catalans as they aim to finish in the Champions League spots. He, though, will miss the next league match against Athletic Club as he received his fifth yellow card of the season on Sunday.
