Barcelona Has Identified An Alternative To Erling Haaland If They Don’t Get Him

Barcelona News: Barcelona will allegedly want to sign Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak if they are unable to get Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window.

Alexander Isak will be Barcelona’s preferred option if they are unable to get the services of Erling Haaland during the summer transfer window, according to a report by Spanish daily SPORT. It is also planned to look for a centre-back, with Jules Kounde being the first on the list of potential candidates.

Since joining Real Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund in July 2019, Alexander Isak has established himself as a reliable member of the team. While he has yet to establish himself as a reliable source of goals in the final third, the Swedish international has established himself as an important player for both club and country.

Isak, on the other hand, has had a terrible season in 2021/22, scoring just eight goals and providing two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions. While his performances have been lacklustre this season, the 22-year-old has attracted the attention of several teams, with Barcelona among those interested in bringing him to the club during the summer transfer window.

Barcelona’s first aim in the summer transfer window would be to sign Erling Haaland. The Catalan giants have already begun negotiations with the Borussia Dortmund striker, and they want to devote the bulk of their resources to acquiring the prolific Norwegian striker soon.

In that case, Alexander Isak will be the preferable option to Haaland, while Jules Kounde is the central defender that Barcelona is interested in signing.

Barcelona, however, might face heavy competition from several Premier League teams in their pursuit of the 22-year-old Swedish striker, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United all interested in bringing him to the Camp Nou.
