Andreas Christensen to Barcelona is pretty much a done deal at this point. The Danish player wants to move in and Barca has already made a strong five-year deal ready for him. However, if he thinks that it is going to be an easy move for him and he will be in the first team without putting in much effort, he is naive. He will have competition around him with the likes of Eric Garica and Oscar Mingueza waiting to take his place. While yes, he might be the first choice at the start of the season, if he does not keep up his performances, he might be dropped soon.

Former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs star, Gus Poyet, warned the Blue’s defender that playing for Barca will be no easy task. He also said that Christensen was never a regular starter at Chelsea because when he was finally good enough to play for the first team, he was plagued with injuries which made Thomas Tuchel choose Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr and Trevoh Chalobah before him. He said in an interview with Cadena Cope,

"“He is not playing every game at Chelsea. He has never been an undisputed starter, and that will depend on what Xavi is looking for and what is going to happen with Barcelona’s centre-backs.”“He has the Barça profile without a doubt, but he would have to accept that role and be one of those who plays every game”"

Although some might think that the Danish player is not good enough to represent the Blaugrana shirt, he has improved a lot under the German coach and he has shown his true form in Euros 2020. Should he manage to remain injury free, he will have a fruitful career at Barca however, if his old injuries plauge him, he might be another flop for the Catalans.
