Barcelona is a team that is bringing in a lot of new players. They have a lot of talented youngsters in the team already but Xavi Hernandez has understood that if he wants to survive in this new climate, then he will need more than just Barca’s homegrown talents. Along with the likes of Pedri, Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo and Gavi, the manager will also need some already established players. However, to do so, they will need to sell, as well as, let go of some players. This is because not only will they need the funds to get the new players but they will also need to clear up some room in their payroll.
The top three earners of the club, Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann may all be leaving next season and while this is good in a way, they will miss the impact of Dembele. While Coutinho and Griezmann won’t be missed too much and they will bring in some money for the team, Dembele will be missed and he will leave for free. The Frenchman could not come to terms with the club in January and the club could not sell him either. Now it seems like he will leave on a free transfer and according to Diario Sport, he will join Paris Saint-Germain.
Ousmane Dembele will leave Barcelona at the end of the season
After the former Borussia Dortmund forward refused to leave in January, it was thought that Barca would never play him again. That has not been the case, however, and Dembele is often used by Xavi Hernandez. The manager is a fan of the player and the player himself has benefited a lot from playing under Xavi. His new resurgence of form sparked some hope into Barca fans, as they hoped that maybe he would stay back at the club. However, business is business and it seems like the French giants will happily fulfil his wage demands.
On top of that, the Paris side will be losing one of their best players, Kylian Mbappe, and they need a replacement for him. Dembele is a similar type of player and thus he will be a good fit in the Ligue 1 team.
