Barcelona is planning on signing one superstar player next season and they have been linked with the likes of Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, Robert Lewandowski and even Kylian Mbappe. Bringing in a star player is difficult, however, they have a huge influence on the club and they help financially off the field as well. The players show effects on the pitch and commercially as well, thus it is not hard to see why Joan Laporta, is so hellbent on acquiring one star player for next season.

The player the president was most impressed by was Haaland. The young Norwegian striker is a stellar player and anyone would be lucky to have him in their team. However, the Catalans will probably have to let this one go since it was reported that the player could cost as much as 200 million euros via extra charges and commissions to his agent. The next best alternative would be Mbappe however, he wants to join Real Madrid and thus it would be impossible to bring him to Catalunya.

Barcelona might have to go with Salah due to Haaland’s high transfer fee

Thus, Salah becomes the third option and the best of them all in terms of effect and finance. Not only does the Egyptian king have over 150 goals for Liverpool in all competitions, but he also has over 50 assists. He has been scoring 20 plus goals almost every season and there is no reason why shouldn’t be able to replicate that in La Liga. Yes, Barca would have to buy him from the Reds however, in the long run, he will be the cheaper option.

While Haaland requires almost 200 million euros, Salah will need less than half of that. He will most definitely not be cheap however, he will not be a bank breaker like Haaland. According to reports, the winger will cost the club around 90 million euros however, the player will agree to lower wages.

Haaland still remains the main target, due to his age and his ability to have a future with the club however, Salah is a strong candidate as well.
