Barcelona gives a final offer to Ousmane Dembele
Barcelona has a huge problem upcoming at the end of the season. Ousmane Dembele, one of their most expensive transfers, might leave the club for free which not only be a huge loss for the team but a big financial loss as well. The player was worth over 100 million euros and the Catalans tried to sell him a few times as well. When Ronald Koeman came in, the manager told the player that he was not in his main plans however, Dembele refused to leave. A deal had been brokered with Manchester United where they were willing to pay a sum close to 90 million euros but Dembele wanted to stay.
He was inconsistent under Koeman however, Xavi Hernandez knew that the player had something special and he wanted to make Dembele one of the main players in his first team. The player started to excel under Xavi and thus a new contract with the club seemed viable. However, that did not go through and the player refused to leave in January as well. Since then he has been used heavily by Xavi, showing his importance to the club and thus Barca has decided to offer him one last time.
According to reports from El Chiringuito, Barcelona will be offering the French superstar an eight million euros per year contract on a four-year tenure. Although this is a better deal than last time, it is nowhere near the amount that Dembele was reportedly asking for. According to Sport Bible, the player was asking for a ridiculous 40 million euros a year and a contract of only two years. Thus, even with this improved contract, it does not seem like the player will stay on. Dembele is 24 years old now and it seems like he wants to make as much money as he can during his prime years.
Thus, Barca won’t be the right club for him and a club like Paris Saint-Germain might suit his demands more.
