Xavi needs Barcelona to find a proper replacement for Dembele
Barcelona is going through one of its most delicate phases at the moment however, under the guidance of Xavi Hernandez and the leadership of Joan Laporta, it seems like the club is going to be just fine in the future. The club, which was doomed to bankruptcy under Josep Bartomeu, has started to blossom and Hernandez has really managed to make a big change in the system. Gone are the dark days when Barca was buying overpriced players and playing defensively, Xavi has managed to instil the Barca way back into the club. However, all this success won’t matter, if the manager cannot keep up the momentum. Thus, he needs reinforcements.
Barcelona needs to find a player like Dembele should the winger choose to leave
While yes, the club did bring in three new forwards in the winter transfer window, they will still need to bring in more players. Their next course of action is fixing the defence and thus they are targeting a lot of defenders however, one player that Xavi needs desperately is a replacement for Ousmane Dembele. The French winger has been instrumental in building up Xavi’s attacking plans and the manager has a big role for the player within the team, as well as the future of the club. However, the player himself is not looking to extend his contract with the club and could end up leaving Barca at the end of this season.
Should Dembele leave the team, there will be a huge hole in the starting eleven and without Ansu Fati, it will be difficult to fix the problem. Xavi would love for the player to stay however, the money issue is creating a big problem for the two parties and an agreement does not seem likely. Xavi will thus need a player like Dembele, who is fast, crafty, can get past defenders and can swing good balls into the box.

Dembele might have not been the most consistent player at Barca however, he managed to pick up his form under Xavi and he has been very influential in the past few games. The Catalans will need a figure like him to keep the great streak going.
