What a Champions League night for FC Barcelona this will be.

The Blaugrana face off against FC Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena this Tuesday for what might be the most anticipated match of the group stage. We are in for an evening of excitement.

Barcelona is currently sitting in second place in La Liga, only 2 points behind league leaders Real Madrid. The football and style of play Xavi has been cooking up these past couple of months has been amazing to witness considering where the club was last season under Ronald Koeman.

Bayern is currently third in the Bundesliga with 6 matches played, sitting only 2 points behind Union Berlin who is in first. An important note: Bayern has not been able to win in the Bundesliga for the past 3 match days, they have managed to bring each game to a tie. This is surprising as the German powerhouse usually takes over the Bundesliga quite early in the season.

Even though it seems Bayern has not been too hot in the Bundesliga as of late, Barcelona fans all over the world have come to learn that they cannot be underestimated. The last time these two teams faced off in the Champions League was last season when the German giants beat Barcelona twice by three goals which eventually sent them spiraling into the Europa League.

Regardless of the events that occurred last season, the feeling around social media is that Barcelona fans want revenge. The embarrassing 8-2 defeat in Munich back in the summer of 2020 is still very much fresh in the minds of fans and they would love nothing more than to stick it back to them this coming Tuesday.

It is evident that Xavi and the Barcelona board want to bring the club back to glory, and this game against Bayern will give them a chance to prove that they deserve to be at the top. After the insane summer transfer window, Barcelona now has at their disposal the experience and skills of Robert Lewandowski, Jules Koundé, Franck Kessié, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha, Hector Bellerin, and Marcos Alonso. Let’s see how Xavi decides to line up the squad tomorrow as this will certainly be a match to remember.
