Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong has opened up about his future at Barcelona amidst talks of a summer switch to Manchester United.

The former Ajax midfielder has a lot of uncertainty around his future despite repeatedly revealing his intention to stay at Camp Nou. His spot in the Barca starting XI has been competitive, with the likes of Pedri, Gavi, Sergio Busquets, and Franck Kessie competing for the position.

On top of that, the ongoing financial problems at Barca is causing a lot of issue for the Dutch international. Not only did he have to agree to take a wage cut to help the Catalan giants recover financially, but the latest transfer ban placed on the club by La Liga could force him to leave.

La Liga chief Javier Tebas revealed that the Spanish side will need to raise £178 million through player sales and wage cuts before making any summer signings. This has resulted in many players being linked with an exit with De Jong the top target for many European giants like Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Netherlands star has now opened up about his future amidst all the reports linking him with a summer switch.
