Bayern Munich boss wants to sign Barcelona superstar
Ousmane Dembele has become a hot topic in the transfer market once again. This follows the revelation that the Barcelona forward’s contract has a termination clause of only €50 million after being renewed last summer, making him a target for several European giants next season. One of these clubs is Bayern Munich, where manager Thomas Tuchel has, according to Fichajes, insisted on signing the Frenchman.
The Bundesliga giants seeks to strengthen their squad in 2023 by fulfilling one of Tuchel’s requests and securing the signing of the French international. Tuchel is keen to reinforce the team’s attack and make a significant leap in quality in the offensive field, thereby aiding Bayern’s quest to return to the fight for the Champions League title. The club hopes that the arrival of Dembele will help them forget their recent slump.
Barcelona keen on keeping Ousmane Dembele
The 25-year-old has become a key player for Barcelona so far in the 2022/2023 season, with coach Xavi Hernández showing great confidence in him. This has led to Xavi requesting that the club negotiate a new contract extension with Dembele as soon as possible, with the current deal expiring in June 2024. The French winger’s impressive performance will deservingly warrant a salary increase, however, the Catalan giant’s current financial situation might prevent them from offering an impressive contract which might result in another club swaying him away from Camp Nou.
It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will negotiate with Dembele for a contract extension, or if the player will decide to leave the club and start a transfer saga, which might result in his immediate sale this summer transfer window which will further help the club fix their wage bill issues.
