Barcelona have been given an ultimatum by Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense over the transfer of striker Vitor Roque.

Mundo Deportivo report that Barca have just 24 hours to send the contract documents over or risk losing him altogether.

The La Liga champions have a pre-agreement in place, but Paranaense now want some concrete movement in the transfer. The Blaugrana agreed to pay €30 million with € 20 million worth of add-ons, as well as a €5 million bonus if Roque was to win the Ballon d’Or.

The sporting director of the Brazilian side Alexandre Mattos visited Catalonia in June, and it was at this point that the transfer was agreed. However, over two weeks later, Barcelona have still not sent the documents to finalise the deal.

Barcelona target Vitor Roque attracting interest from elsewhere

Roque is one of South America’s brightest talents and has already been capped at the international level for Brazil, despite being just 18 years old.

Torello reports that several clubs have gone on the offensive recently in an effort to secure his signature, and if the La Liga champions don’t act fast, they could risk losing out. If that happens it would be the second time this week they’ve missed out on a top talent, with Fenerbahçe attacking midfielder Arda Guler choosing Real Madrid.

According to the report, Paranaense is starting to lose patience with Barcelona, and if the signed contracts are not received within 24 hours, the Brazilian club will start considering alternative offers.

Manchester United, PSG and Tottenham are believed to be interested in securing the Brazilian talent who’s scored 6 goals in his last 6 games, with reports suggesting they’re willing to fly to Brazil to close the deal.

Despite the frustration of the Paranaense sporting director and the interest of other top European clubs, Roque has his heart set on joining Barcelona. Although it’s expected his arrival will be delayed until January due to La Liga’s financial fair play regulations.
