According to a new report in Mundo Deportivo, Bernardo Silva is patiently waiting for Barcelona to make their move, with the Portuguese midfielder maintaining his desire to play for the La Liga champions.

Earlier this week we reported that Barca was working to bring Bernardo Silva to Spain in this transfer window. However, under the financial fair play regulations, any move will be dependent on outgoings from the Catalan club.

Ferran Martinez’s report indicates that Silva is aware of Barcelona’s interest and there is a belief that Manchester City would be willing to listen to offers for the midfielder.

It’s long been said that Barca is Silva’s preferred transfer destination, but there is a conflicting report coming out of Scotland.

According to the Daily Record, Silva is intent on securing a move to PSG this summer with the French side already having an offer rejected by City.

This is the second year in a row that the French Champions have made Silva a priority after launching an unsuccessful €70 million bid last summer.

What would Bernardo Silva bring to Barcelona?

Silva is a highly creative player with a good appreciation of space and movement, his off-ball movement and ability to spot the final pass would be ideal for the system that Xavi likes to operate.

An outstanding passer of the ball, Silva also has the ability to break the lines and his late arrival in the box enables gives him plenty of opportunities to get his name on the scoresheet.

The former Monaco man also brings a lot of versatility. Not only has he been played in the middle of the park, but Guardiola has also used him as a fill-in winger and false nine.

Guardiola once said of Bernardo Silva: “He is one of the best players I have trained in my life. He’s special,” so it’s understandable that the Premier League champions are doing all they can to convince Silva to stay.
