Barcelona continues to add to the Barça Atlètic ranks by signing centre-forward Diego Percan from Cultural Leonesa. A well-regarded youngster, Percan signed an initial two-year deal with Barca and will add to the firepower at manager Rafael Márquez’s disposal.
The official Barcelona channel confirmed the deal today after we revealed days ago that an agreement was close following a conversation with the Percan camp.
Born in Leon in 2001, Percan joined Club Deportivo San Lorenzo at age 5, before moving to Cultural Leonesa as a 15-year-old. He continued to rise through the ranks and became an established member of the Leonesa team in 2021/22 appearing in 19 games and scoring just one goal.
Last year he appeared in 37 games scoring 8 times with 3 assists as Leonesa finished midtable in the Primera Federación, which is the third tier of Spanish football.
Diego Percan offers versatility for Barça Atlètic
Primarily used as a centre forward, Percan can also operate on both the right and left flanks, although he’s more comfortable on the right, with the ability to beat his man on the outside or cut back inside.
The fee is expected to be just €250k, which is a small investment with the potential of a big return for the La Liga champions.
There will be plenty of competition for places at Barça Atlètic this season in the forward positions with Estanis Pedrola returning for another year after scoring 8 times last season.
