Sampdoria are leading the race to sign young and exciting Barcelona prospect Estanis Pedrola.

This is according to Manu Amor of Relevo who reports that the Serie B side is looking to lock up for the forward on loan ahead of the new season.

Pedrola is one of the most highly regarded prospects at Barcelona and scored 8 goals in 23 matches for Barça Atlètic last season.

The 6’1 forward joined Barca from Catalonia club CF Reus back in 2021

The next stage of his development is for him to go out on loan and experience a full season of senior football, especially after making his La Liga debut for Barcelona last year in a 1–0 away win over RCD Mallorca.

The 19-year-old can play in any of the three forward positions but has predominantly been used as a left winger, cutting back in on his preferred right foot.

Plenty of teams are interested in Estanis Pedrola

There’s a lot of excitement around Pedrola’s development within the Barca management ranks, and his choice of club for the 2023/24 season will be key.

Earlier this month Real Valladolid was reportedly interested in signing him on loan, and heading to another La Liga club may be preferable for Barcelona, as it will give him experience within the same league, facing certain opponents and certain tactics.

Valladolid is not the only team showing interest with fellow Spanish outfits Osasuna, Cadiz, Alavés, and Elche also registering their interest, along with Girona who took Barca teammate Pablo Torre on loan.

Italian side Lecce has also shown an interest, and unlike Sampdoria, they can offer first-tier football.

The team from Genoa finished last in Serie A in 2022/23, winning just 3 of 38 games on their way to relegation. They’re hotly tipped to be one of the better teams in Serie B this year, and that should give Pedrola plenty of opportunities in front of goal.
