Things move fast for Barcelona, blink and one report is contradicting another, a move that was close is denied and a move that was never on the cards is almost done.

It’s hard to keep up with the flow of information, so every now and then we like to help out by collating the latest and putting it into one handy article.

So here is our post-Getafe transfer update. If you missed our takeaways and player ratings, head over to give those a good read as well.

Neymar undergoing Al-Hilal medical

I never really bought into the Neymar return, it just didn’t make sense on so many different levels. Now it looks to be completely over with the Brazilian forward on the verge of moving to Saudi Arabia.

The money on offer from the Saudi Pro League is on another level and Barca simply can’t match it. Xavi reportedly didn’t want Neymar anyway, and his personality may not have fit with the squad, so his being off the board isn’t a big issue.

There was a report that he would move to Al-Hilal and be loaned to Barcelona, but that has largely been completely ruled out, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up if you’re a Neymar fan.

Clement Lenglet is close to signing for Al-Nassr

Another report here from The Athletic claims that although a deal is not done for Lenglet, he is close to signing with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.

The Barca man failed to make a single appearance during the pre-season and has been tipped with a move back to London with Tottenham, but it appears as though he’ll be heading east instead of west.

There are no indications on the fee, but I would expect Lenglet to fetch around €10-€12 million.

Joao Cancelo inching closer to Barcelona move

Manchester City right-back Joao Cancelo is on the verge of moving to Barcelona, Fabrizio Romano reported this morning that Barca was getting ready to offer a loan with an obligation to buy offer next summer.

Multiple reporters have stated that Cancelo will be a Barca player, it’s just a matter of time.

Xavi made Cancelo his priority signing at right-back and it’s become obvious that an upgrade in the position is needed. Cancelo would represent that, and would largely complete a very talented team.

Barcelona defender Alex Valle moves to Levante on loan

In a small move today, Barcelona announced that defender Alex Valle would move to Levante on loan for the 2023/24 season.

Valle is blocked from first-team opportunities with the senior side at the moment, but he’s highly thought of within Barca management.

He spent the first part of last season with the Barcelona B side, before moving to FC Andorra to gain experience in the Segunda division.

He’ll gain more experience in the second tier of Spanish football with Levante and we believe there is no option to buy the player at the end of the loan.
