Joao Felix has his heart set on a move to Barcelona this summer despite the Blaugrana showing clear signs of reluctance to make a formal move.

Felix has been made available for a transfer from the start of the summer transfer window following an underwhelming loan spell at Chelsea, where he just managed 4 goals in 16 Premier League games.

He returned to Atletico Madrid for pre-season but multiple reports suggested he has no future under Diego Simeone. When asked to give an update on Felix’s future, Simeone didn’t give a direct response but insisted that “nobody is bigger than the club.”

Atletico’s hierarchy is open to selling Felix to the highest bidder, but apart from Al-Hilal, which is managed by former Benfica manager Jorge Jesus, no club has made any concrete approach for the Portuguese talent. Now the SPL club has signed Neymar.

Barcelona could get Joao Felix on loan for €15m

According to Matteo Moretto (via Barca Universal), Felix only wants Barcelona. There are no other options in his mind, he adds.

The Catalan giants, who have spent their last few weeks exploring the possibility of signing either Neymar or Bernardo Silva, are interested in Felix but are yet to show any real determination to sign him.

Despite recent rumors, Moretto says Felix will not terminate his contract with Atletico. Instead, he could be loaned out should the Madrid-based club receive a loan fee of around €15m.

Since the La Liga giants don’t appear fully convinced with the Portugal international’s talents and don’t possess the financial luxury to make another high-profile transfer gaffe, a loan move seems a pretty good solution to their conundrum.

Barcelona have lost Ousmane Dembélé to PSG and question marks remain over Ansu Fati’s status in Xavi’s project. As such, they certainly need an attacking reinforcement. Considering everything, they could do a lot worse than Felix.
