After the signing of Vitor Roque, the Blaugrana have another Brazilian teenager on their radar. Brazil has always been a hotbed for football talent and the European clubs always have their scouts set on Brazilian fields. With Brazilian talents moving to Europe as early as their teens, another teenager has emerged to the wonderkid scene and FC Barcelona are interested.
Gabriel Moscardo is a midfielder for Corinthians and has big European clubs talking. He joined the club’s youth setup in 2017 when he was 12 and since has been moving up the ranks at Timão. According to Sport, Barcelona have already made their move making first contact to show their interest in the youngster.
Deco has been on the forefront in the signings of Brazilian talents, showing his expertise in the market. Chelsea already tried seizing the teenager but fell short against Corinthians’ ask fees of €30 million. Deco tried signing the Brazilian when he was still playing for the U20s at Timão but FFP restricted them to hold their horses.
Moscardo’s FC Barcelona compatibility
Gabriel is a perfect fit for Barcelona. He can solve Barça’s defensive midfield problem. Barcelona only possess one true defensive midfielder in Oriol Romeu at the moment. Since the departure of Sergio Busquets they have been struggling to find another like him who can fit like a glove to their playing style.
If Barça manage to sign Moscardo then their defensive midfield problem will be solved for years to come. The Brazilian’s tackles are as smooth as silk and his ball holding ability is on another level considering his age. His long ball accuracy is also noteworthy along with his passing.
Barcelona can have it all only if Deco manages to work up his magic that he used in his playing days. With the cat out of the bag not only Chelsea but other European clubs will take notice too and the Blaugrana must close the matter promptly.
