Saudi Arabia may have bagged themselves a star or two, but the quality of the league is still severely lacking, with a real lack of intensity evident in nearly every game.

But Rome wasn’t built in a day and it’s expected that Saudi teams will continue to add as much talent as they possibly can, and with pockets deeper than anyone else, there’s a good chance they’ll succeed in attracting more and more talent.

We’ve already heard that Saudi clubs are interested in Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, but the Barcelona man doesn’t seem overly interested in making a move to the Middle East, at least not at the moment.

But unsurprisingly, he’s not the only Barcelona player generating some interest.

Saudi Arabia team approach Ansu Fati representatives over move from FC Barcelona

At one point it looked as though Ansu Fati was the heir apparent to Lionel Messi, but some injury issues and a lack of form plagued much of the last 12 months.

To try and recapture some of his best form, Fati headed to Premier League high-flyers Brighton, in the hope that a number of impressive performances could put him back in the picture for Xavi at Barcelona next summer.

Fati has scored just 1 goal in 4 appearances for Brighton in the Premier League and has yet to make a start. He has made 3 starts between the Europa League and Caribou Cup, but his time in England has failed to take off.

Now, according to a report in SPORT, Fati is an interest of the big spenders in Saudi Arabia, with teams making contact with his representatives. There are some in his entourage who are open to discussing a potential move, but it’s not believed to be high on the agenda for Fati.

Instead the young Spanish forward is intent on proving his worth in England before returning to Barcelona to fight for his starting place.
