Barcelona and Brazil have a proud history with the likes of Romario, Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Neymar donning the famous Barca jersey.

That proud tradition is set to continue within the next 12 months following the arrival of Vitor Roque, a deal that has already been agreed.

But Barcelona are hoping to keep the conveyor belt going and Estevao William ‘Messinho” is a big target of Deco and the Barcelona management team.

That appreciation is reciprocal with Messinho recently confirming to Mundo Deportivo that his biggest dream is to pull on the shirt of the current La Liga champions:

"Play for Barcelona, which is one of the best clubs in the world. I was born watching Neymar, Messi and Suárez play at Barcelona and that is the dream I have."

16-year-old pearl of Palmeiras Messinho attracting interest across Europe but wants Barcelona

According to the report in MD, PSG has already tabled a €50 million offer for the next big thing in Brazil and Manchester City is also tracking him along with nearly every major European club.

Barcelona is currently going through a difficult period financially and likely can’t compete with the likes of PSG and Man City on the transfer fee, but there is no indication that Palmeiras will sell Messinho anytime soon, meaning Barca have time to get back into good ground in terms of financial fair play.

During the interview with MD Messinho confirmed that he’d love to play at the new Camp Nou which is set to open in 2026 and when asked to name a city he’d like to get to know, he named Barcelona. So all indications point to Messinho waiting for Barcelona.

His agent André Cury is also the agent of Vitor Roque and holds a close relationship with Barcelona and Deco, so all the starts are aligning for him to eventually arrive in Catalonia.

A lot can happen in 3 years, but it’s widely expected that Messinho will really introduce himself to the world during the U17 World Cup which takes place in a couple of weeks.
