Hansi Flick’s men are currently in a sublime period of the season, and it’s nothing short of a nightmare to have to endure an international break. Right as Barcelona’s team starts clicking in unison and starts to dominate in games, 17 of our men have to report to their respective nations to risk their shins in the international friendlies.

Many of the Barca faithful are sweating bullets at the prospect of a mass exodus of talents, and rightly so. Joan Laporta recently expressed his displeasure in the club’s overflowing match schedule during the general meeting and, honestly, seeing this list of players departing for the international break makes him want to tear his hair out.

Spain raids the dressing room again

The Spanish national team once again pillages the Catalan club’s star players.

Luis de la Fuente has called up seven of our La Liga leaders: Pau Cubarsi, Eric Garcia, Rodri, Pedri, Fermin Lopez, Dani Olmo, and Lamine Yamal. In addition, Marc Bernal and Xavi Espart have joined the U21s.

That’s nine players making a long journey to represent their nation and carry the weight potential injuries happening to them over the course of the international break.

The list of our men reporting to their nations is extensive and beyond just Spain.

Barcelona are sending Anthony Gordon to England, Karim Adeyemi to Germany, Jules Kounde to France, Joao Cancelo to Portugal, and Dominik Livakovic to Croatia. Our young talents Jesse Bisiwu and Hamza Abdelkarim, both part of Barca Atletic, will also turn up for Belgium and Egypt, respectively, as they are called up to the U21s.

The Raphinha situation is terrifying

While we wish Lamine and Pedri all the best for their respective campaigns, the sight that has all Barcelona fans losing sleep over is the one of their talisman, Raphinha.

The Brazilian attacker is currently in sublime form, and the fact that he has to travel more than 30,000 km to play for the national team in Australia and India is a sight that gives everyone nightmares.

When combined with the fact that he’s also had to sit out several matches due to injuries sustained during international games (he missed five weeks of action after the USA friendlies in March), it puts several fears into the minds of the Camp Nou faithful.

There’s a ton of fixtures waiting for us on the other side of the international break, and we only hope that all Barcelona players report back to training fit to play.
