Given that Yamal will miss the rest of the season and Raphinha is still unavailable, Flick's options for Saturday's visit to the Coliseum have been significantly limited. This is the likely formation Barcelona will end up with.
Defence
Starting in goal for this fixture will be Joan Garca, who will be defended by a back four comprised of Kounde, Cubarsi, Gerard Martin, and Cancelo. A little bit of a surprise is to see Cancelo in the lineup, especially after he went off against Celta, but the quick recovery from injury and Flick's trust in the veteran Portuguese will see him start.
Midfield
In the midfield three are De Jong, Gavi, and Pedri. It will be the first time all three are playing together this season. Fermin’s position is a mystery. He will either play in the left flank with Gavi being the number 10, or Gavi will end up playing in the left-hand side and Fermin playing as the number 10. A player of note in this fixture is Gavi. He brings a high energy, pressing style of game, something that Flick needs desperately in a match against a Getafe side that is built to suffocate and grind.
Forward
The front three will be Roony Bardghji on the right, Ferran Torres playing as number 9, and either Fermin or Gavi playing on the left flank. While we think the latter is more probable.
Possible XI: Garcia; Kounde, Cubarsi, Martin, Cancelo; Frenkie, Pedri, Fermin; Roony, Ferran, Gavi (4-2-3-1)
Although this formation picks itself given the situation, the interesting story line to come out of it is the start of Roony. Bardghji is an 18-year-old Swedish winger who has featured in less than 500 minutes all year long.
Generally limited to minutes on the sideline of matches that were already won, the young talent has been fast-tracked into the starting XI for perhaps the most difficult away fixture left on the schedule, in place of the absent Yamal. Flick stated on Thursday that Roony will be ready for this fixture and we will find out on if he actually is.
The depth of the bench will be huge here. A Bordalas's Getafe team will always make a game very physical, and Flick needs options on the bench to respond to a potential "dirty" game against this particular opponent.
