Barcelona is a side with a proud history in the Champions League. However, they have not won the competition since 2015. Back then, Luis Enrique was their manager, and he had just won back-to-back Champions Leagues with Paris Saint-Germain.
Hansi Flick is now in charge of Barca, and he has had success domestically, winning La Liga and the Copa del Rey. However, European glory has eluded him so far at the club. The German will be without some of his key players for their opening Champions League game of the season.
Frenkie de Jong - Out
De Jong is still recovering from a knee injury that he picked up at the World Cup. He is not expected to be back in action for Barcelona until October. He will be a miss in the middle of the park. However, Barca do still have Pedri and the new signing from Manchester City, Rodri.
When asked recently about De Jong, Flick replied, "He's very talented. After his injury, he needs to come back and train hard, which he's doing. We'll see him in a few weeks, and we'll see what happens after the international break; it's important to take it one day at a time."
Roony Bardghji - Out
Bardghji was linked with a loan move to multiple Premier League and other European clubs over the summer. However, he then picked up an anterior cruciate ligament injury and is expected to be out for the majority of the campaign.
Eric Garcia - Out
Garcia is fit, but he received a red card in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season, as Barca crashed out of the competition to Atletico Madrid. Therefore, he is still suspended and will miss the game.
Gavi - Doubt
Gavi picked up a knee injury and was taken off at half-time in Barcelona's opening La Liga game of the season. He then missed the subsequent two fixtures but did return to Barca's bench against Valencia last weekend. However, he still did not make it onto the field. Therefore, he is still a doubt against Feyenoord.
Lamine Yamal - Doubt
Yamal missed Barcelona's training session on Saturday due to a knock. However, he went on to play 90 minutes against Valencia the following day and scored twice. It appears that Yamal sitting out of training was only precautionary; the knock may still be troubling him, but he should be available against Feyenoord.
Thomas Beelen - Out
Beelen is out with a broken leg and is not expected to return until the new year.
Jakub Moder - Out
Modor will also be missing after undergoing knee surgery.
Bart Nieuwkoop - Out
Nieuwkoop will also be missing for Feyenoord with a knee problem.
Jordan Bos - Out
Another Feyenoord player with a knee problem, Bos is not expected to be back in action until November.
Gijs Smal - Out
Gijs Smal has an ankle injury, but Giovanni van Bronckhorst hopes he will be back soon.
