FC Barcelona's 2024/25 summer transfer window was quite impressive. While the club completed the dream signing of versatile star Dani Olmo, they did a decent job on player sales, selling prodigy stars Julian Araujo and Mika Faye, making the overall transfer window end on a brilliant note for the side. However, while they had certain positives from the transfer event, they had to halt a few player signings due to financial constraints.
FC Barcelona remains in the race for the 25-year-old Serie A superstar
One of the key reinforcements the Blaugrana club was eyeing for the majority of the summer window was a high-profile left winger; however, in the end, they failed to complete a move. After being linked for a long time to Euro hero Nico Williams and then AC Milan superstar Rafael Leao, Barca opted to halt a move in the summer. Although so far this season, Club Captain Raphinha has been extremely brilliant in the role, reports suggest that the club hasn't moved on from Milan star Leao.
As per Diario SPORT's recent reports, FC Barcelona still remains interested in Portugal ace Rafael Leao. The report further mentions that the Blaugrana club is monitoring the left winger's price for a potential move. Considering that the superstar's relationship has been stressed out with his Milan boss, which affected the player's minutes, Barca thinks he might be interested in a move.
Moreover, being aware of the player's manager Jorge Mendes' relations with the club, a transfer move might be facilitated in the future. However, that being said, recent reports from journalist Matteo Moretto clearly indicate that even though Milan doesn't consider Leao untransferable, they would ask for a huge amount of money.
From FC Barcelona's perspective, this might be a big turn-off, given their current financial conditions. Moreover, with Captain Raphinha being in the form of his life, it would be unfair for the board to consider any high-profile signings in the role soon. Thus, even though the Blaugrana club still monitors Rafael Leao's situation, significant chances are that they would stick with Raphinha, as the Brazilian looks forward to marking an era at the club.
