Alongside Fabian Ruiz and Barca sensation Lamine Yamal, another player has been performing upfront for Spain at the Euros, which has helped them reach the finals. Being the joint highest goal scorer, Dani Olmo has taken over the goal-scoring task to make the nation through in crunch situations. In the fixture against France, after Lamine Yamal tied the score with his wondergoal, it was Olmo's calm and composed finish that secured the winning goal for La Roja.

Dani Olmo is plan B for Nico Williams

His heroics at the Euros have further elevated his transfer profile, as talks regarding his potential move have been circulating even before Euro 2024. Like Nico Williams and Luis Diaz, Dani Olmo is another candidate for the left-wing slot. Moreover, Barca has also been linked with the Spanish forward, as he has been on the shortlist of Deco and Co. for a big summer transfer move.

According to recent reports from Barca insider Toni Juanmarti, the club views Dani Olmo as plan B in case Nico Williams' deal can't be completed. Moreover, Dani Olmo's Barca transfer is much more favorable than the club going for Luis Diaz.

Though Barca seems on the verge of completing Nico Williams' deal, with the player and the Barcelona board in agreement, his transfer money still seems a concern. For the Williams move, Barca would need to trigger the winger's release clause of his Athletic deal worth €58 million, which wouldn't be easy for the club.

Financial issues paves the way for Olmo's move

Barca needs the sale of a big player to get the cash flow, and thus, the possibility of going for Dani Olmo kicks in. Moreover, with Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix pushing to return to the club, Barca might need to spend on either one, which most probably seems like Cancelo. Given the unavailability of a player of the caliber of Cancelo, the club might need to bank on him, or if they prove lucky, they might acquire him on loan.

However, in any case, the possibility of a Dani Olmo move isn't ruled out, as Barca has given clear signs that they are going to recruit on the left wing. Only time will tell if the Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal duo reunites for Barcelona or if Dani Olmo's signing becomes the club's biggest summer transfer window move.
