FC Barcelona has marked their new campaign in style, defeating the likes of Valencia, Athletic, Rayo, and Real Valladolid. With the complete 12 points off the first four fixtures, Barca currently occupies the tabletop position in La Liga, 4 points ahead of Real Madrid. While things are going in the right direction for the club, another brilliant update regarding the comeback of a young star has arrived.

Barca receives massive boost as Ansu Fati is set to return soon

Recent reports from Marca suggest that Barca's young prodigy, Ansu Fati, is close to returning. Not to forget, Fati had been the club's standout star in the early preseason training sessions and seemed close to returning to his potential; however, a foot injury had outlined him just a few days before Barca's US Tour.

Barca insider Matte Morento recently reported that despite Fati being linked to various transfer rumors, the Spaniard was never close to leaving Barca this summer. With the Barcelona boss Flick having full confidence in him, it was certain that he would get chances as a number 9 option. In fact, Mundo Deportivo's latest reports indicate the same.

According to reports, Hansi Flick is significantly aware of Ansu Fati's ability and wants him to return to his best. Being an admirer of the youngster's talent, Flick values his ability to score goals. With sources indicating that Fati has returned back to training with the team, chances are that the wing forward might join the squad after the international break.

From Barcelona's perspective, not only Ansu Fati's return would be a significant squad option, but having the experience of representing Barca in the past, Fati surely can lead the left wing. Moreover, having the ability to play in the number 9 role, the young Spaniard might be the perfect rotation player in Robert Lewandowski's role.

In Fati's presence, not only would the Blaugrana club find much squad depth, but possibly he could succeed Lewandowski at the club. Overall, Fati's addition would prove to be a significant boost, and given the club's hectic schedule soon after the break, Fati might play an important role in Barcelona's playing XI.
